Beauty Insider Alert!!! We have a new favourite product: Densifying Treatment by Kerastase. It is from their men’s line, Homme Capital Force. We know it all gets a little confusing with the nomenclature, but stay with us on this one. Although the line targets thinning haired men with promises of creating the most optimal environment for healthy hair growth, we are buzzing for different reasons. After an early morning of styling hair on the set of Breakfast Television, our very own Justyna Pakula shares her experience with Densifying Treatment.

Justyna, tell us about your experience with Densifying Treatment.

JUSTYNA: I don’t remember who made the discovery,but it all started when Kerastase launched their men’s line. We had some samples that we were working with in the salon - I really wasn’t paying that much attention to the line- and then someone said that it acted like Expanseur Extra Corps. I was instantly interested since the miracle for fine hair that was Expanseur had recently been discontinued. Because of the “male” focused marketing with the Densifying Treatment, I was initially hesitant to try it for blow outs. I am happy to report I have had much success with it on fine hair- it is great at creating volume. It has been a go to product for me for awhile now.

What is the best way to use this product?

JUSTYNA: Your going to get the maximum effect from this product if you do a round brush or velcro roller set. I would just spray in a moderate amount on damp hair and style to your heart’s content. Anyone wanting more volume from their fine hair is going to benefit. Just be forewarned that with cedar and amber top notes the scent is more on the masculine side- remember it is targeted to men. I find that it is most noticeable when you initially spray in, but by the time you have finished blowdrying the scent is gone. If you need staying power, a light to medium hold hair spray would be a good compliment after blowdrying.

How can we best use the product if you are short on time? Can we spray and air dry?

JUSTYNA: I guess you could spray and go; you will probably feel that your hair has a little more texture to it when it is dry. Personally, I would save it for when you are going to make the effort to blowdry.

Any other products on your radar right now? JUSTYNA: I am also loving Lotion Densitive by Kerastase right now. It is similar to Densifying Treatment in creating volume, it just offers more hold. It feels a little stiffer than the Densifying Treatment; it is like Densifying Treatment with hair spray.
